About
I design mechanisms for products people use every day, mostly sit-stand desks, monitor arms and the things around them.
I started at Humanscale as a co-op in 2018 and stayed through September 2025. I learned the work from engineers who taught through the project itself: a principal engineer who held every drawing to a high standard, a design engineering manager, and the lead behind the monitor arm and ergonomic product lines. The habits I took from them are the ones on the home page.
What I enjoy most is the stretch between a vague problem and a part in someone's hand. That means hand calculations, a test jig, a pile of printed prototypes, a supplier conversation, and then the documentation that lets someone else build it. I am looking for a role where I can keep doing that on consumer products, and I am open to contract work.
